At First Christian Church of Demopolis, we understand worship to be a lifestyle; one that encompasses singing and praying as a gathering of church family as well as subtler aspects of our everyday individual routines. Scripture tells us that when we offer our lives to God for His purpose, we are actually participating in a special, spiritual act of worship. And when, as a church community, we begin to connect to God in a way that goes beyond the motions, we start to see worship in a whole new dimension; one that is an integral part of the way we live our lives and relate to those around us. We invite you to join us as we sing songs, pray and continue to find new ways to worship our Creator, both inside and outside church walls.

We're not talking chemistry exams here. At First Christian Church of Demopolis you'll find a culture in which life-changing knowledge is pursued within the context and support of community. You'll find Bible Study to be an enriching, rewarding experience as you build relationships and make connections. The idea is to learn and grow together; discovering relevant truths that can be applied to everyday life. Here everyone has something to offer, whether it's a new Christ-follower with his or her contagious enthusiasm, or a seasoned mentor offering encouragement and support. And within the laid back setting of the evening bible study at the church or the casual setting of a home living room for our young couples bible study, you won't feel pressured to know all the right answers. If only chemistry had been this simple.

"Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue, but with actions and in truth."
- 1 John
3:18 (NIV)

Serving others is, and should be, the identifying mark of a Christian. Jesus said that he came to earth not to be served, but to serve, and did so by laying his life down for each of us. In doing so, He showed us that true love is expressed when we serve others.

Serving is also a great way to connect with other people. Not only can you share the love of Christ with others as you serve them, but you can also share your love for Christ with other believers as you serve side by side.

There are many opportunities to serve others here at First Christian Church in Demopolis, throughout the Demopolis community and around the world.

We have members of our congregation serving in many ways throughout the community. Some of our members are school teachers and they are molding the young minds of the leaders of the future. We have members who are very involved with the Demopolis Habitat for Humanity Project which will place a much deserving family in a brand new home. We have members who are involved with Sav-A-Life which is an organization that educates pregnant women on options they have other than abortion. We have members who are in various civic organizations such as the Demopolis Lions Club and the Demopolis Kiwanis Club.

So what are you waiting for? Connect in serving.

Anyone. Anytime. Anywhere.

Helping Men Walk as Jesus Walked

The Men's Ministry of First Christian Church in Demopolis is about helping you find and experience the abundant life--the life of passion--that God has in store for all believers. Through our prayer breakfast and other fellowship opportunities we seek to disciple men--to help transform them from followers into leaders and ministers of the Gospel.

The Men's Ministry has a men's prayer breakfast on each Sunday that falls on the 5th Sunday of the month. The Prayer breakfast includes breakfast, fellowship, prayer and a short devotion. There is no cost to the Men's Prayer Breakfast. This is a great way for the men of the church to grow in their walk with the Lord.

The C.W.F. is an organization for the women in the church. It meets on the second Monday night of each month. The meetings rotate from home to home each month hosted by one of the ladies in the congregation.

During the C.W.F. meetings, the ladies discuss different things pertaining to the life of the congregation and have prayer together. There is always a great assortment of food at the C.W.F. meetings as well.

The purpose of the C.W.F. is to...
1. Promote a growing relationship with Jesus Christ for women;
2. Build fellowship with and encourage one another; and
3. Provide opportunities for service and ministry.
